Joey grew up in Bellingham, where Mikaela moved to attend WWU. It was there they were initially introduced through mutual friends. They quickly became close friends, and started spending almost every day together. Eventually they realized they were in love and wanted to be together.As their relationship continued, it was clear this would be forever for both of them (they dared each other to tattoo the other's initials on themselves after 5 months of dating). The hard part for Joey then was figuring out how to introduce Mikaela to his two kids. At the time, Everly was 6 and Britton was just 3 years old. Joey introduced her to them as his good friend, and luckily they all got along great or he would have kicked her to the curb. Eventually Everly figured out that her dad had a girlfriend and has been asking when they were going to get married ever since.Joey and Mikaela have moved around a lot, eager to find a permanent landing spot. They fell in love with the Phinney Ridge/Green Lake area and took on their fourth move together this past October. (if anyone has moved with a partner you know it's a big flex to come through unscathed)Together they have 2 cats, Buster and Truffles, and a little dog, Lisa.

Hotels

We have a block of rooms set aside at the Inn at Pleasant Beach. This hotel is very close to the wedding venue and there will be transportation provided. Please connect with Lydia for available rooms and rates- lydia@pleasantbeachvillage.com

We do not have a block of rooms reserved at the Clearwater, but it is about 15 minutes from the wedding venue and the location is beautiful. We will provide transportation to the venue.

The best way to get to the island is the ferry. Download the WSDOT app for the ferry schedule and vessel tracker. If you're driving on, anticipate that the ferry you plan to take will be full, so take the one before it. There is lots to do on the island if you get there early. If you would like to walk on the ferry, you can coordinate pickup on the Bainbridge side with Victoria.

Seattle Ferry Terminal

Victoria will be providing a shuttle service for our guests. We will arrange pickups from guest's hotels and Airbnbs. Please let us know where you are staying so we can organize the pickup schedule. Victoria will be on call all evening for transportation back to your accommodation. Please send her a text when you are ready to leave the event.

A new restaurant on the island that has been a huge hit!

Sweetwater Tavern

There are several great wineries on the island. A favorite of ours is Eleven, which is conveniently located close to the ferry terminal on Winslow Way. Sisters Ciderhouse is a fun stop. Fletcher Bay, Amelia Wynn, and Rolling Bay are other favorites.
